Early Childhood Initiative
Research points to the importance of developing values and social skills at an early age when children’s attitudes are most malleable. That is the basis of the Kaleidoscope’s Early Childhood Initiative. Implemented today in Akko, Lod, Ramle and Jerusalem, the Early Childhood Initiative trains nursery and kindergarten teachers to implement Kaleidoscope’s activities that help foster the social skills pertinent to their age group – self-awareness, empathy, respectful communication and more. They apply these skills in their everyday settings, creating an atmosphere in which the children begin to appreciate difference. The children then apply these skills in interactive social programming like music and sports that join them with children of different cultures providing them with positive associations with being together, opportunities to focus on the positive attributes of difference.
