Early Childhood Aides Training
Kaleidoscope’s Early Childhood Aides Training initiative is a one-of-a kind course launched in the 2018-19 school year in an effort to promote the development of understanding and trust between Jewish and Arab early childhood assistants, empowering a heretofore untapped resource to implement diversity education in their kindergartens.
Developed together with the Ramle municipality, the initiative includes professional training, storytelling that is accompanied by puppetry and mentoring, social skills building, interactive activities, and participation in the on-line GOOD NEWS newsletter, elements that combine to increase understanding and interaction between the Arab and Jewish aides and the capacity to promote this understanding and interaction between Arab and Jewish children.
With an overflow of applicants and success measured by the aides ability to immediately apply their training in their kindergartens, the program soon grew to include additional groups in Ramle and in Lod, and is projected to include Ethiopian and native Israeli aides in the near future.
